59-Year-Old Berkeley Man Critical, Driver Arrested after Berkeley Pedestrian Crash on San Pablo Avenue and Oregon Street

Berkeley, California (August 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a vehicle in Berkeley on Thursday afternoon, according to the Berkeley police.
The accident took place in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Oregon Street at around 2:40 p.m.
Police said a 65-year-old Berkeley man was driving a van when he collided with a 59-year-old Berkeley man.
Pedestrian Critically Injured in Berkeley Pedestrian Crash
The victim was transported to Highland Hospital with critical injuries.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury.
The crash caused a closure of a section of San Pablo Avenue as authorities investigated the incident.
