, California (August 20, 2021) – A died after being struck by a suspected drunken driver Thursday night in Fullerton, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at around 9:13 p.m. Thursday, August 19, at the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Victoria Drive.

Police said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross southbound in the eastbound lanes of Chapman Avenue.

Pedestrian Killed in Fullerton DUI Crash

The pedestrian, only identified as a man, was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities determined the driver involved was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. The driver was ultimately arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of DUI.
