Person Killed in National City Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 at State Route 15
National City, California (August 26, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by several vehicles early Thursday morning in National City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened at about 4:50 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 5 at State Route 15.
The pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles for unknown reasons in the fast lane of the interstate, the CHP said.
Pedestrian Hit, Killed in Interstate 5 Accident
The pedestrian, whose name has not been released pending family notification, died in the crash.
Three of the four northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed following the wreck.
No further details about the crash were immediately given.
The accident remains under investigation.
