Teen Driver Dies after Pickup, Big Rig Collide on S. Walnut Avenue in Fresno County

, California (August 26, 2021) – A teenage boy was killed Thursday evening in a traffic collision in County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. on S. Avenue, just north of Jefferson Avenue, near Easton.

The CHP said the boy was driving a pickup westbound on Jefferson Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the pickup truck collided with a big rig that was heading northbound on Walnut Avenue.

After the impact, the pickup truck slide under the trailer of the big rig.

Fatal Big Rig Crash in Fresno County

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated the teen driver who was trapped in the wrecked vehicle. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of relatives.

No further details about the crash were immediately given.

The accident remains under investigation.
