2 Injured in Car Accident on Highway 44 near Deschutes Road in Redding
Redding, California (August 27, 2021) – Two people were hospitalized after being injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Redding on Monday evening.
The crash happened on Highway 44 near Deschutes Road at about 5:45 p.m. August 23, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The officers established that a 2013 Kia was traveling west on Highway 44 when it drifted across the double yellow line and collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota.
The impact of the collision caused the Kia to spin and strike a 2013 Honda that was traveling behind the Toyota. The Kia split into two parts after the collision.
2 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 44 in Redding
A 2017 Subaru traveling behind the Honda was unable to avoid the collision and crashed into the wreckage.
The drivers of the Kia and the Honda were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The other two drivers suffered minor injuries in the accident.
