Person Killed in Monrovia Pedestrian Accident at California Avenue and Duarte Road
Monrovia, California (August 27, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a Los Angeles Metro train in Monrovia early Friday morning, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 4:25 a.m. in the area of California Avenue and Duarte Road.
According to the officials, the train was en route to Los Angeles when it hit the pedestrian near the intersection of California Avenue and Duarte Road.
Pedestrian Killed in Train Crash in Monrovia
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities said train service was stopped between the Duarte and Arcadia Metro stations for the L Line train for several hours during the investigation.
No further details regarding the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
