At Least 1 Sustains Major Injuries in Lake Isabella Crash on Highway 178 near Elizabeth Norris Road
Lake Isabella, California (August 31, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a fiery head-on collision that happened Monday afternoon in Lake Isabella, Kern County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 4:13 p.m. on Highway 178, near Elizabeth Norris Road.
A white Ram pickup truck collided with a blue pickup truck under unclear circumstances.
One of the vehicles caught fire after the first impact.
At least one person suffered major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was sent to the scene to take the party to the hospital.
The report said a witness of the crash in a white Toyota Corolla had accidentally left the scene with an involved party's phone but was going back to return it.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
