Five People Hospitalized after Downey Crash on Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard
Downey, California (September 20, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday morning traffic accident that left five people injured in Downey.
The major injury multi-vehicle accident transpired at about 1:00 a.m., on September 18, at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard.
According to the police, two vehicles were allegedly street racing when they crashed into another vehicle at the intersection.
As a result of the crash impact, the three cars were mangled, and one was overturned. Debris was also scattered all over the intersection.
Five people were injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment. Their injuries ranged from moderate to major.
The police said one person was arrested after the accident on suspicion of felony reckless driving and hit-and-run.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
