Matthew Shannon Suffers Serious Injuries in Grass Valley Fatal Car Accident on Brunswick Road

Grass Valley, California (September 21, 2021) – 27-year-old Matthew Shannon has been identified as the Lake of the Pines male victim who sustained serious injuries following a multi-vehicle crash in Grass Valley Friday evening.
The California Highway Patrol said the deadly car crash took place on Brunswick Road at around 6:39 p.m. on September 17
The accident began when, for unknown reasons, a southbound minivan driven by 34-year-old Kimberly Lumpkins of Grass Valley crossed over the double yellow line and sideswiped a Honda Pilot.
Due to the impact, the Pilot went across the lanes near Brunswick Pines Road and plunged down an embankment.
A sedan driven by Shannon north on Brunswick Road, behind the Honda Pilot, also became involved in the collision.
Matthew Shannon Major Injury Grass Valley Crash
Matthew suffered major injuries following the crash. He was attended to by paramedics before being taken to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center for further medical aid.
Sadly, Lumpkins was declared dead at the crash site.
The Honda motorist reportedly sustained minor injuries and was treated by medical personnel at the scene .
An investigation into the accident is underway.
