Wilder Bastante ID'd as Driver Killed in Ontario Crash on 60 Freeway near Grove Avenue
Ontario, California (September 23, 2021) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified the driver who died early Thursday morning following a traffic collision involving a pair of semi-trucks in Ontario as Wilder Salas Bastante, 63, of Hesperia.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on eastbound 60 Freeway near Grove Avenue.
A semi-truck crashed into the back of another big rig on the freeway, the CHP said.
Driver Killed in 60 Freeway Collision Identified
One of the involved drivers, now identified as Bastante, was declared dead at the scene at around 12:56 a.m.
Further details regarding the collision were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
