Kyu Chen Killed in DUI Car Accident at Sand Canyon Avenue and Irvine Center Drive
Irvine, California (September 27, 2021) – Kyu Chen, 61, has been identified as the woman who was killed in an Irvine car crash that occurred early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision occurred at around 4 a.m. in the area of Sand Canyon Avenue and Irvine Center Drive, the CHP said.
A Prius is reported to have collided with a Mercedes-Benz, but the circumstances of the collision were not immediately determined.
The Orange County Fire Authority said Chen, a resident of Irvine, was killed in the accident.

Luis Marcial Diaz, 21, of Irvine, was driving the Mercedes and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The police temporarily shut down the intersection to allow them to investigate the incident.
More details about the crash were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
