Dean Peppas Killed in Two-Car Accident on Highway 129 near Rogge Lane in Aromas
Aromas, California (September 27, 2021) – 75-year-old Dean Peppas has been identified by the Santa Cruz County Coroner as the Aptos man who was killed in a Friday evening car crash on Highway 129 in Aromas.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened on Highway 129, just west of Rogge Lane, shortly after 6 p.m. September 24.
A 38-year-old Watsonville man was driving a 2001 Ford Excursion eastbound on Highway 129 with three juvenile passengers on board.
The police said Peppas was in a 2008 Toyota Prius and was attempting to pull onto westbound Highway 129 from Rogge Lane when it was struck by the Ford Excursion.

Peppas was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Santa Cruz County Coroner's Office.
A 6 and 7-year-old girls in the Ford suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The driver of the Ford and another 16-year-old passenger were unhurt.
The officers ruled out intoxication as a factor in the crash.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
