Assane Drame Killed in Mid-City Collision on 10 Freeway near Flower Street
Mid-City, California (September 28, 2021) – Assane Drame, 26, has been identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as the man who was killed in a traffic collision involving several vehicles in Mid-City Monday night.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the deadly multi-vehicle crash was reported at around 11:37 p.m. Monday, September 27, on the westbound 10 Freeway near the intersection of 12th and Flower streets.
Details on what led up to the collision were not immediately available.
The authorities established that Drame pulled over on the 10 Freeway near the La Brea Avenue exit because his car, a 2012 Honda Accord, had developed mechanical problems. A short time later, another vehicle struck the Honda Accord.

Drame, who was a video producer in the digital media department for the Los Angeles Clippers, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The Clippers Association mourned the loss of the employee in a statement that said in part:
“The Clippers organization mourns the loss of Assane Drame, a dedicated employee, a talented videographer and a loyal friend. Assane came to the Clippers in 2019 as a video intern for our digital content group and ascended to video assistant. He was a hard worker and a gentle soul, passionate about his craft and kind to his colleagues, earning the respect and admiration of players, coaches and staff.”
Clippers forward Nicolas Batum also sent his condolences on Twitter.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
