Sam Rosenkrans and Stephanie Kramer Injured in Nevada County Crash on Highway 49 near Rincon Way
Nevada County, California (September 28, 2021) – Stephanie Kramer, 32, and Sam Rosenkrans, 23, both of Auburn, were injured in a deadly head-on collision Sunday afternoon in Nevada County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 12:39 p.m. Sunday, September 26, on Highway 49 near Rincon Way.
Rosenkrans was driving a 2001 Honda Accord southbound on Highway 49 when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the vehicle to cross over double yellow lines and collided head-on with a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan driven by Kramer.
Scott Maillet Killed in Highway 49 Crash in Nevada County
Tiguan's passenger, Scott Maillet, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kramer and Rosenkrans sustained minor injuries and were taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident. All the three parties involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
