Horacio Vigil Killed, Randall Peters Injured in Santa Rosa Crash on Highway 12 near Merced Avenue
Santa Rosa, California (September 29, 2021) – Horacio Vigil, 42, has been identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office as the man who was killed in a head-on collision in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning
The wreck occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 12 near Irwin Lane between Llano Road and Merced Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said Vigil was driving a blue GMC Sierra pickup truck when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a Chevrolet flatbed truck driven by 67-year-old Randall Peters, of Healdsburg.
Man Killed in Santa Rosa Collision on State Route 12 Identified
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and closed both directions of the highway between Merced Avenue and Irwin Lane.
Vigil, a Santa Rosa Rosa resident, was killed in the accident.
Peters was transported to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries
No other details were given, but authorities are investigating.
