Edvin Raymundo ID'd as Driver Killed in Pacoima Car Crash on Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Van Nuys Boulevard
Pacoima, California (October 1, 2021) – The driver who died Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision in Pacoima has been identified as Edvin Roberto Carias Raymundo, 45, of Pacoima.
The deadly crash happened at about 8:35 p.m. Sunday, September 26, in the 10400 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Van Nuys Boulevard.
Authorities said a white Toyota pickup truck, driven by Raymundo, was attempting to make a right turn onto Laurel Canyon Boulevard from Mercer Street when he pulled out into the path of a maroon Dodge Charger that was traveling southbound on Lauren Canyon Boulevard, carrying two men and three juveniles.
The pickup truck ultimately collided with the Charger. Due to the impact, the Charger crashed into an apartment building.

Raymundo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two occupants of the Charger were trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency responders. The freed parties and three other occupants of the Charger were taken to a hospital, where two of the juveniles were listed in stable condition.
An 11-year-old child who was in the building at the time of the accident was evaluated at the scene by paramedics but did not require additional treatment.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
