Moped Rider Seriously Injured in Mission Valley Accident on Friars Road

Mission Valley, California (October 2, 2021) – A man riding a moped suffered major injuries Saturday morning in a collision with a vehicle in Mission Valley, according to San Diego police.
The crash, which involved a Honda Civic and the moped, occurred on Friars Road at around 10:21 a.m.
Police said the 30-year-old driver of the Honda was southbound exiting the parking lot of his apartment complex when he collided with a moped rider who entered the intersection at Friars Road on a red light.

The moped rider, a 27-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
