Vacaville Man Killed in Sutter County Crash on Highway 113 near Pelger Road
Sutter County, California (October 2, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision has claimed the life of a 27-year-old Vacaville man Friday night north of Robbins in Sutter County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At around 8:50 p.m. Friday, October 1, the CHP officers received a report about the crash on Highway 113, just south of Pelger Road.
According to the CHP, the Vacaville man was driving a 2017 Ford Focus southbound on Highway 113 at an unknown speed when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the opposite lane and sideswiped a northbound 2000 Ford F150 truck hauling a 20-foot-long trailer.
The CHP said the F150 was traveling at approximately 55 miles per hour prior to the collision.
Deadly 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 113 in Sutter County
The Focus driver was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the F150, who was not hurt, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
Police closed Highway 113 in both directions for nearly two hours while the investigation and cleanup took place.
The crash remains under investigation.
