2 Injured in Monday Night West Covina Car Accident on 10 Freeway at West Covina Parkway
West Covina, California (October 5, 2021) – Two people are recovering after being involved in a serious injury West Covina car accident that happened Monday night, the California Highway Patrol said.
The multi-vehicle pileup occurred at around 10:44 p.m. on eastbound 10 Freeway at West Covina Parkway.
CHP officers said the wreck involved four vehicles, including a San Gabriel Valley tow truck, a sedan, a Jeep, and a pickup truck.
The officers had not yet established what caused the crash at the time of the report.
West Covina Car Crash on Interstate 10
The Jeep was blocking the No. 2 lane, the pickup truck was on the right-hand shoulder, and the tow truck and sedan were in the center divider after the crash.
An off-duty deputy at the scene advised authorities that one person was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to find one person with a large laceration and a head injury and another who sustained unspecified injuries. One of the parties was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and the other to Queen of the Valley Hospital.
Authorities are investigating to establish the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
