27-Year-Old Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Ocean Beach Skateboard Accident on Nimitz Boulevard near West Point Loma and Sunset Cliffs Boulevards

Ocean Beach, CA: Major Injury Skateboard Crash on Nimitz Boulevard

Ocean Beach, California (October 5, 2021)Authorities are investigating a Tuesday morning traffic accident that left a skateboarder seriously injured in Ocean Beach.

The major injury accident transpired at about 7:45 a.m. on Nimitz Boulevard between West Point Loma and Sunset Cliffs boulevards.

According to the police, a 27-year-old man was riding a skateboard northbound on Nimitz Boulevard when he entered the intersection, directly into the path of a vehicle that was being driven southbound Nimitz Boulevard by a 63-year-old man.

The skateboard rider was eventually hit by the vehicle.

The skateboarder sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to U.C. Medical Center for treatment. His name and current condition were not immediately disclosed. 

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the collision.

More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
