Gabriel Nelson ID'd as Driver Killed in Guerneville Crash on River Road near Odd Fellows Park Road
Sonoma County, California (October 11, 2021) – Authorities have identified the driver who died following a late Thursday morning collision between a pickup truck and a bus near Guerneville as Gabriel Nelson, 46, of Guerneville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened shortly before noon on October 7, in front of Korbel Winery at 13250 River Road near Old Fellows Park Road.
Nelson was driving eastbound on River Road when, for unknown reasons, his Toyota Tacoma veered into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Sonoma County Transit bus occupied by about six people, the CHP said.

Nelson died in the crash.
The driver of the bus sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The collision resulted in the closure of the westbound lane of River Road and traffic was rerouted to Odd Fellows Park Road.
Additional information was not immediately available.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
