Pregnant Woman Among 4 Injured in Sacramento County Plane Crash near Alta Mesa and Blake Roads in Wilton
Wilton, California (October 14, 2021) – Four people were seriously hurt when their plane crashed near a private airstrip in the area of Alta Mesa and Blake roads in Wilton, Sacramento County on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
A video from the station showed the aircraft, a white biplane, taking off from nearby Alta Mesa Airpark at around 4:15 p.m. October 14.
In that video, the plane veered left and crashed into trees. The aircraft then burst into flames and started a small vegetation fire that fire crews put out.
4 Suffer Major Injuries in Sacramento County Plane Crash
Four people on board the plane, a man, a pregnant woman, and two teens, were transported to local hospitals in critical condition.
There was no word on what caused the plane to crash.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the wreck.
