Coyote, CA: Deadly Car Collision on Highway 101 near Bailey Avenue Off-Ramp

Coyote, California (October 17, 2021) – One person was killed in a Highway 101 car crash that took place early Sunday morning in Coyote, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The two-vehicle crash happened at around 2:14 a.m. on southbound Highway 101, just south of Bailey Avenue off-ramp.

Authorities said for unknown reasons, a gray Honda Civic collided with a white pickup , one of them ending up on top of the guardrail.

A party involved in the crash told authorities that one of the vehicles rolled over, and an occupant in that car had a head injury and was unconscious and not breathing.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and confirmed that one person died in the accident.

There was no information about whether the other parties involved were injured.

Firefighters blocked the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes as they helped those involved.

Two wooden posts and 10 feet of guardrail were damaged in the wreck.

Authorities did not mention any possible factor that may have caused the accident, but they are investigating.
