Jamestown, California (October 21, 2021) – Colleen Kotoske, 56, of Jamestown, was among three people who were injured Saturday afternoon after being involved in a deadly car crash in Jamestown, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday, October 16 on Highway 108, just west of Sanguinetti Road.

CHP said a 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup was traveling eastbound on Highway 108 at approximately 55 to 65 miles per hour when it tried to pass a 2007 Chevy Avalanche on the right shoulder of the highway.

The Chevy swerved to the left to avoid a collision but the left side of the Toyota struck the right side of the Chevy.

After the impact, the Chevy veered into the westbound lane and directly into the path of a 2007 Dodge pickup hauling a trailer.

The Chevy ultimately hit the right side of the trailer of the Dodge and veered off the north edge of the road. The Chevy then crashed down an embankment and slammed into a boulder before coming to a rest.

The Toyota reportedly spun out of control into the westbound lane, where it struck the left front of a 2009 Subaru Forester driven by Kotoske. Following the collision, Kotoske lost control of the Subaru, which overturned down the embankment before it came to a rest on its roof.

The Toyota continued westbound and collided with a 1994 GMC Suburban. The Toyota then caught fire while the driver was trapped inside.
