1 Seriously Injured in Chico Collision on Highway 99 at Southgate Avenue
Chico, California (October 23, 2021) – At least one person was seriously injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Chico, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The major injury collision happened at around 11:46 a.m. Friday, October 22, on Highway 99 at Southgate Avenue.
According to CHP, a Kia Optima collided with another vehicle on the southbound side of Highway 99 at Southgate Avenue.
As a result of the crash, the Optima sustained major front-end damage.

Emergency personnel who responded to the incident found one unconscious party inside the wreckage. The patient was then transported to the Enloe Medical Center with major injuries.
The crash prompted the closure of southbound Highway 99 near Southgate Avenue.
No other details were available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
