18-Year-Old Quail Valley Teen Killed, Driver Injured in Car Crash on Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore, California (October 23, 2021) – According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Coroner, 18-year-old Ana Arreola was the driver killed in a Saturday morning Lake Elsinore crash that also left another driver hospitalized.
Riverside County firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to eastbound Railroad Canyon Road, just a half-mile east of Church Street, where two vehicles had collided at around 10:00 a.m.
After a preliminary investigation, authorities found out that Arreola, a Quail Valley resident, was driving her car westbound on Railroad Canyon when, for undetermined reasons, she crossed over the median into opposing traffic and collided with an eastbound vehicle.
Fatal Lake Elsinore Car Accident
Arreola was pronounced dead at the scene after she suffered significant injuries in the crash. The other driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Authorities do not believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
The crash left eastbound Railroad Canyon Road closed for several hours.
