Man Critically Hurt in Oxnard Bicycle Crash on East 5th Street near Rose Avenue
Oxnard, California (October 23, 2021) – A bicyclist sustained major injuries in a collision with a vehicle in Oxnard on Friday night, according to authorities.
The wreck took place on East 5th Street, east of Rose Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. October 22.
Investigators said a 2017 BMW 330i was heading west on Rose Avenue when the 19-year-old Camarillo driver swerved into the bike lane to avoid an eastbound tractor-trailer that drifted into his path.
The BMW collided with a bicyclist that was traveling westbound on 5th Street.

The man riding the bike was rushed to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the BMW was not injured and remained at the scene.
The big rig did not stop at the scene after the accident.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
