Man Killed in Selma Truck Accident on Highway 99 at Floral Avenue
Selma, California (October 25, 2021) – A man, believed to be in his 20s, was killed when a truck crashed into his vehicle that was disabled on a highway in Selma Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly crash occurred at about 4:00 p.m. in the northbound lane of Highway 99 at Floral Avenue.
According to CHP, a Hyundai had stopped in the center median of the highway, causing traffic to move slowly.
A northbound Ford F-250 swerved to the left to avoid the slow-moving traffic and ended up hitting the back of the Hyundai.
Deadly Car Crash on Highway 99 in Selma
Sadly, the driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
It was not immediately clear if the Ford driver sustained injuries in the crash.
Authorities did not believe alcohol or/and drugs were a factor in the accident.
Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
