At Least 1 Severely Hurt in Merced Car Crash on Southern Pacific Avenue and Franklin Road
Merced, California (October 26, 2021) – Two drivers were pinned, and at least one of them was seriously injured, when two vehicles collided Monday morning near an intersection in Merced.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 11:39 a.m. on Southern Pacific Avenue and Franklin Road, near the Franklin Road overpass.
Authorities said a red Kia collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons.
Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the drivers. At least one of them was seriously injured in the crash. A Mercy Air ambulance responded to the scene and airlifted the patient to the hospital with internal injuries.
At the time of the report, authorities were still investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
