Harley Mason-Kocher Killed in Hughson Motorcycle Collision on Santa Fe Avenue near Leedom Road
Stanislaus County, California (November 2, 2021) – 30-year-old Harley Mason-Kocher, of Modesto, was killed in a motorcycle accident near Hughson on Sunday afternoon.
The deadly collision happened on Santa Fe Avenue near Leedom Road, in front of Lakewood Memorial Park, at about 2:35 p.m. October 31.
The California Highway Patrol said the Mason-Kocher was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Santa Fe when he crashed into the rear of a southbound 2015 Infiniti sedan driven by Maria Gomez, 27, of Modesto.

Mason-Kocher was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Gomez and her 5-year-old passenger, Evelyn Hernandez, were unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.

When these types of accidents happen, the drivers of the involved vehicles may be held accountable for the crash. However, it is good to note that the motorcyclist may also be partly to blame if, for example, they were speeding or riding in the wrong lane.
- Speeding – Riding at high speeds reduces the rider's ability to slow or stop safely in case of a hazard or slowed or stopped traffic. The rider ends up crashing into other cars or loses control of the motorcycle after applying emergency brakes.
