Santa Maria Accident at Western Avenue and Cook Street Injures 3
Santa Maria, California (November 1, 2021) – Three people were hospitalized after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision at an intersection in Santa Maria on October 29.
The crash happened at South Western Avenue and West Cook Street shortly before 1:30 p.m.
The accident began when a green Prius driven by 61-year-old Rick Hill east on West Cook Street, stopped at the intersection to look both ways before proceeding. Rick, a Santa Maria residnet, then saw a black SUV run the stop and drove south at a high rate of speed.
The SUV reportedly clipped and completely removed the rear bumper of the Prius.
The SUV driver, a female party, spun out of control upon the impact and came to a stop between a tree and a home near the Santa Maria intersection.
Three other vehicles were also involved in the accident, according to officials.

As per the report, the SUV operator, a male juvenile passenger, and a third person sustained unspecified injuries and were rushed to a local hospital for medication.
