Tayonia Gallegos Hospitalized after Gerber Car Crash at Gyle Road and State Highway 99
Corning, California (November 1, 2021) – 49-year-old Tayonia Gallegos, of Chico, was injured in a collision involving a truck in Gerber on Halloween.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the fiery crash site shortly before 3:45 p.m., October 31, in the area of Gyle Road and State Highway 99.
27-year-old Jedidiah Coulter Lucas, of Paynes Creek, was driving a 1963 Ford eastbound across the intersection and collided with a 2003 Buick Sedan driven by Gallegos.

One of the vehicles caught fire after the collision.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Gallegos suffered major injuries and was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Lucas suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment. A 9-year-old male passenger in his vehicle was not injured.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
