Steven Bamford and Donna Bamford Hospitalized after Napa County Motorcycle Crash on Silverado Trail near Yountville Cross Road
Napa County, California (November 1, 2021) – Steven Bamford, 64, and Donna Bamford, 67, both of Napa, were injured Friday afternoon in a motorcycle collision northeast of Yountville, Napa County.
The wreck happened at around 2:27 p.m. Friday, October 29, on the Silverado Trail, just south of Yountville Cross Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Melanie Navarro Torres, 20, of Reno, Nevada, was driving a 2017 Tesla Model S sedan northbound on the Silverado Trail when she slowed down and stopped on the east shoulder.
Navarro Torres then pulled out of the shoulder and attempted to make a U-turn but failed to yield to an approaching Harley-Davidson Road Glide, driven by Steven Bamford.
Steven Bamford laid his motorcycle onto its left side in an attempt to avoid the collision. He and his passenger, Donna Bamford, were thrown off from the Harley.
The motorcycle reportedly continued to slide down the pavement until it hit the left side of the Tesla.
2 Napa Residents Injured in Silverado Trail Accident
Steven Bamford sustained major injuries and was transported to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center.
Donna Bamford was also transported to the Napa hospital with moderate injuries.
Navarro Torres was unhurt.
Further details about the collision were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
