Rosa Cachu among 6 Injured in Santa Rosa Car Crash on Porter Creek Road near Franz Valley Road
Santa Rosa, California (November 2, 2021) – Rosa Cachu of Calistoga was among six people who were injured in a head-on collision that also left another person dead Saturday night north of Santa Rosa, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, October 30, on Porter Creek Road, near the Franz Valley Road intersection.
CHP said a Ford Fusion was traveling westbound on Porter Creek Road when, for unknown reasons, the driver allowed the vehicle to drift into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander.
Deadly Head-On Collision near Santa Rosa
The woman driving the Ford died at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Highlander, now identified as Cachu, and her five passengers, ages between 8 to 12 years old, were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major and moderate injuries.
It is undetermined if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
