At Least 1 Seriously Injured in San Mateo Car Crash on Highway 101 at Poplar Avenue Off-Ramp
San Mateo, California (November 3, 2021) – At least one person sustained major injuries in a multi-vehicle collision involving a tow truck that happened Tuesday afternoon in San Mateo, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The pileup occurred at around 4:53 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 at the Poplar Avenue off-ramp.
A heavy-duty flatbed tow truck towing a Chevrolet Equinox and a red Honda Civic collided with a gray Honda Civic and a white Honda Civic for unknown reasons.
The red Honda Civic got detached from the tow truck and overturned onto its roof.
The report said at least one person sustained major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to offer medical aid and transport the victim to the hospital.
At least four of the vehicles were towed away from the scene with crash damage.
CHP is investigating the accident.
