Pilot Dies after Plane Crashes near Minter Field Airport and Museum in Shafter

Shafter, California (November 3, 2021) – A pilot was killed in a plane crash near Shafter in Kern County on Wednesday morning.
The Kern County Fire Department said the accident happened at about 11:56 a.m. in the area of Lerdo Highway and Driver Road.
The crop-dusting plane is reported to have crashed near Minter Field Airport and Museum and caught fire.
The unidentified pilot who was the sole occupant of the plane was killed in the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the accident.
