Prunedale School Bus Crash on Echo Valley Road near San Miguel Canyon Road
Prunedale, California (November 5, 2021) – A school bus collided with a semi-truck Thursday morning in Prunedale, but no child was hospitalized, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The report said 36 children were on board the North Monterey County Unified School District bus that collided with a semi-truck that lost control on Echo Valley Road near San Miguel Canyon Road.
The school bus went almost off the roadway and into a ditch.
The incident happened just after 7 a.m.
First responders said a few children hit their heads but they were okay and no one was hospitalized. However, one child complained of neck pain.
The children were taken to school using alternative means.
Authorities closed Echo Valley Road for an unknown period to allow the bus to be retrieved.
