Cyclist Seriously Injured in Corning Bicycle Accident at Highway 99w and Sonoma Avenue

Corning, California (November 9, 2021) – A bicyclist was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Monday night at an intersection in Corning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at around 8:19 p.m. Monday, November 8, in the area of Highway 99w and Sonoma Avenue.
CHP said the bicyclist was traveling in the rain when the driver of a dark green Dodge Ram 2500 failed to see the cyclist.
The Dodge ultimately struck the bicyclist at the Corning intersection.
The cyclist sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The name and current condition of the victim were not disclosed.
The intersection of Highway 99w and Sonoma Avenue was temporarily closed while the investigation and cleanup took place.
