Roger Valdez Jr. Killed in Pinole Crash on Interstate 80 near Pinole Valley Road Off-Ramp
Pinole, California (November 16, 2021) – 37-year-old Roger Valdez Jr. was the passenger who died in a foggy Pinole car crash that happened early Monday morning on Interstate 80, as per a local news source.
The accident occurred at around 12:05 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway just east of the Pinole Valley Road off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Hyundai Genesis occupied by two people crashed into the rear of a Saturn sedan for unknown reasons.
The Saturn had three occupants at the time of the accident. Valdez was in the right-side rear passenger seat and died at the crash scene. The driver and a passenger in the front seat of the Saturn suffered minor injuries.
The two occupants of the Hyundai did not have any significant injuries
Authorities said the crash happened in foggy weather, and the Hyundai was possibly going too fast for the conditions.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
