Thousand Palms Accident on Varner Road near Ramon Road Seriously Injures Pedestrian
Thousand Palms, California (November 20, 2021) – A person in a wheelchair sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Thousand Palms Friday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The major injury crash took place on Varner Road, south of Ramon Road, at approximately 5:05 p.m.
As per the CHP report, the pedestrian in a motorized wheelchair was hit by a gray Toyota Camry on the roadway just north of Manufacturing Road for undetermined reasons.
Thousand Palms Accident Results in Major Injuries
The accident left the unidentified individual with serious injuries. Paramedics treated the pedestrian before transporting them to the Desert Regional Medical Center for further medication.
The crash resulted in the closure of a section of Varner Road near Ramon for an unknown time.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
