1 Killed, 7 Injured in Fresno County Crash at North Piedra Road near East Weldon Avenue
Fresno County, California (November 21, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday afternoon three-vehicle accident that killed one person and left seven other parties injured in Fresno County.
The deadly accident occurred at about 5:18 p.m. at North Piedra Road near East Weldon Avenue outside of Sanger.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevy Venture van, driven by a 41-year-old Reedley man, crashed into a tractor driven by a 57-year-old man.
A woman and five children, whose ages ranged from 8 to 16 years, were in the Chevy when the crash occurred.
The tractor driver was reportedly preparing to pull a Dodge pickup out of a ditch.
7 Injured in Fatal Crash at North Piedra Road
Sadly, the van's driver, who was ejected onto the roadway, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman and the five children in the van were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The driver of the Dodge sustained a hip injury.
Drugs or alcohol were not involved in the accident.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
