Brittney Montano, Antonio Montano Killed in Sierra County Crash on Interstate 80 in Sierra Nevada

Sierra County, California (November 22, 2021) – Brittney Montano, 29, and Antonio Montano, 29, both of North Highlands, were among four people killed in an early Saturday morning crash involving a wrong-way driver on an interstate in the Sierra Nevada, Sierra County, according to authorities.
The incident was reported at around 5:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, on Interstate 80 near Eagle Lakes Road.
Authorities said a Jeep was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 when it collided head-on with a Honda Civic carrying Brittney, Antonio, two young children, and an infant.

Both adults and the two children in the Honda, a 5-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, died in the collision. The infant was airlifted to the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno with unspecified injuries.
The wrong-way motorist, who was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, was also transported to the Renown Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
The collision remains under investigation.
