Marshal Whatley ID'd as Pilot Killed in Plane Crash near French Valley Airport in Southern California

Temecula, California (November 24, 2021) – The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified the pilot who died after a small plane crashed into an open field Tuesday morning in Temecula as Marshal Whatley, 48, of Murrieta.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Zodiac 601XL crashed near the 32100 block of Everview Terrace, just southeast of French Valley Airport, at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 23.
Whatley, who was the sole occupant of the plane, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
