CHP Officer Injured in San Francisco Crash on Bay Bridge
San Francisco, California (November 29, 2021) – A California Highway Patrol officer and a second person were injured in a collision near the Bay Bridge toll plaza in San Francisco on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Interstate 580 near the Bay Bridge toll plaza.
A tow truck driver had been traveling the wrong way on the freeway when the driver turned back around at some point and slammed into a CHP patrol car.
The driver then tried to hit a second patrol car but crashed into another person's car.
A CHP officer and the suspect suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the other car was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
