, California (December 3, 2021) – Alberto Agoncillo and Lydia Agoncillo, both 80 and from Moreno Valley, were killed in a Thursday afternoon traffic accident in Moreno Valley, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred at about 4:00 p.m., on December 2, on Alessandro Boulevard, west of Heacock Street.

According to the officials, a black 2002 Acura MDX, driven by Wendy Aguilar, 42, of , struck the passenger side of a blue 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander occupied by the Agoncillo's.

The Acura was reportedly headed westbound on the roadway when it struck the Outlander. The Agoncillo's were turning left into a Moreno Valley business complex from the eastbound side of Alessandro Boulevard.

Sadly, the Agoncillo's were pronounced dead at the scene.

Aguilar sustained minor injuries in the accident. Aguilar's female passenger suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.

Aguilar was drunk at the time of the accident. She was arrested and booked into 's Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree murder and felony driving under the influence of alcohol with an additional enhancement charged for causing significant bodily injury to her passenger, the officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
