Wheelchair Rider Seriously Hurt in Davis Pedestrian Crash at Sycamore Lane and Alvarado Avenue
Davis, California (December 12, 2021) – A man riding in a wheelchair was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing an intersection in Davis earlier this month, according to the authorities.
The incident happened in the area of Sycamore Lane and Alvarado Avenue at around 8:30 a.m. December 3.
Authorities said a 29-year-old wheelchair rider was in the crosswalk trying to cross the intersection when he was hit by a southbound vehicle for unknown reasons.
The victim was found down in the roadway while the wheelchair was overturned.
Wheelchair Rider Hospitalized after Davis Pedestrian Crash
Medics transported the rider to a hospital with major injuries.
The involved motorist remained at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the authorities.
The driver may have possibly been unable to see the rider due to fog.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
