Afroz Ali Killed in Madera County Crash on Highway 99 near Highway 152
Madera County, California (December 12, 2021) – The man who died in a traffic crash that happened in Madera County on Friday night has been identified as Afroz Ali, 63, of Fresno according to authorities.
The wreck happened on Highway 99 near Highway 152 at around 6 p.m. December 10.
According to CHP, Ali was driving a Kia minivan northbound on Highway 99 when he stopped on the side of the highway to check on the back of his vehicle.

Shortly after, a pickup truck traveling south swerved onto the shoulder and crashed into Ali and the minivan.
Ali was pronounced deceased at the scene following the collision.
The operator of the truck, a Merced man, reportedly sustained minor injuries.
Two women who were passengers in Ali's van were expected to be ok.
Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the accident.
The wreck is under investigation.
