CBP Agent Injured in Interstate 15 Crash near Temecula

Temecula, California (December 13, 2021) – A Customs and Border Protection agent was struck and injured by a suspected DUI driver near Temecula early Monday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident took place at around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 15, just north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard.
According to California Highway Patrol, the agent was on a routine checkpoint when a driver in a black Mini Cooper fled through the checkpoint and struck them.

The agent was rushed to a hospital with major injuries.
The involved motorist reportedly stopped a mile from the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
