Christie Hoffmier ID'd as Woman Killed in Nevada County Motorcycle Accident on Highway 49 near Little Deer Drive

Nevada County, California (December 14, 2021) – Authorities have identified the woman who died Saturday afternoon in a traffic collision in Nevada County as Christie Hoffmier, 62, of Rocklin.
The deadly crash occurred at about 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, on Highway 49 near Little Deer Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2007 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Highway 49 when the driver saw a deer in the roadway and slowed. A 2021 Harley motorcycle carrying Hoffmier and her husband was traveling behind the Honda.
The motorcycle then attempted to pass the Honda. For an unknown reason, the bike impacted with the left side of the Honda.
Due to the impact of the collision, the motorcycle went across the north lane and rolled over. As the bike was overturning, both Hoffmier and her husband were ejected onto the ground.
Hoffmier died at the scene while her husband sustained a broken arm. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
