Kenneth Mitchell, 9-Year-Old Girl Injured in Nevada County Crash on Highway 49 near Little Deer Drive
Nevada County, California (December 14, 2021) – Kenneth Mitchell, 29, of Nevada City, and a girl were injured Sunday afternoon in a traffic collision in Nevada County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, December 12, on Highway 49 near Little Deer Drive.
CHP said a vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 49 when it struck a motorcycle that was making a U-turn on the highway.
Mitchell, who was riding the motorcycle, lost his left leg in the crash while his passenger, a 9-year-old girl, sustained a broken ankle.
The vehicle acquired front-end damage following the crash.
Further details about the collision were not immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
